I have HDL bit lower. But my LDL (bad cholesterol) is within normal limits. Is low HDL bring heart attack or pain in heart? Is it related to heart or any other body parts?
A low HDL doesn’t cause anything. It makes heart disease a little more likely. However, if the other #’s in the test are fairly good, it may not mean much. Your doctor needs to look at it in the context of your total health picture.
Some "statins" raise HDL as a side benefit. The only reliable way is with prescription Niacin. Not a pleasant drug for some people.
