My Blood Test Results

Going to the doctor and getting the my blood test results was almost like receiving the code to my life. When I receive the results, my doctor was giving me this look like something was wrong. He begins to tell me how low my blood count was and that it was urgent that I find out why? When you look at the different abbreviations and the numbers; it can be very confusing. Especially if the numbers aren’t where they should be for a healthy result. So I decided to do some research of my own and after finding the information that I was looking for, I was amaze of the information giving to me. So, I decided why not share my story with someone who may be going through the same thing. I believe this information can help someone else to determine their blood results. First, I want to share with you my CBC results and maybe this will help you find more information with where you should be.

My Blood Results were:

WBC-9.1

RBC-3.43

HGB-7.1

HCT-23.1

MCV-67.5

MCH-20.7

MCHC-30.7

RDW-19.9

PLT-321

MPV-7.4

NEUT%-72.3

LYMP%-19.0

MONO%-7.5

EOS % – 0.6

BASO %-0.6

NEUT#-6.6

LYMP#-1.7

MONO#-0.17

EOS#-0.1

BASO#-0.1

PLT EST- ADEQ

Now after comparing the numbers, my results show that I am anemic which is not a good thing. But if you anything like me, all this was foreign language to me; until I found a site that help me break down each abbreviation and the definition of each word. Also, I found how important it is to build your blood level up and the oxygen that produce red blood cell. Previously I had been taking Omega-3 or Fish oil which made my blood richer and thick, but my doctor still must find out why I am so anemic. So could it be stress or some other medical condition, I don’t know but I am waiting to find out. In the meantime, here are some helpful tips for you.

Here are the meanings of most of the CBC abbreviations, you can go to: http://www.lymphomation.org/CBC-blood-counts.htm

The information is very helpful to help you locate where you should be, I decided to shop at thisstore online since I live in South Florida. There is a wonderful health store online that I can get some of the best product when it comes down to healthy stuff such as minerals and vitamins that help eliminate the deficiency in iron and supplement. Getting more healthy vitamins and mineralwith the proper supplement in your body can help you get better blood result. The one thing that I learned from this whole ordeal and that is to take good care of my body; meaning to eat healthy and live healthy. It is one thing to live a long time but living a healthy longtime make a big difference. The year of 2011 is approaching and you can make a decision to begin now to EAT HEALTHY AND LIVE LONG!

Calcium and Vitamin D Supplementation Improve Weight Loss Effect on Lipids

A report published in the January, 2007 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that women who supplemented their weight loss program with calcium and vitamin D had better lipids and lipoprotein profiles than those who did not take the supplements.

Researchers at Laval University in Quebec provided 63 overweight or obese women whose calcium intake was low with a placebo or a supplement containing 600 milligrams calcium and 200 international units vitamin D per tablet to be taken twice daily during a 15 week reduced calorie weight loss intervention. Physical examinations conducted at the beginning of the study ascertained the participants’ height, weight, body mass index, and blood pressure. Blood samples were analyzed for cholesterol and triglycerides, and an oral glucose tolerance test which measured plasma glucose and insulin was administered.

A correlation was observed between calcium intake and high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol at the beginning of the study. At the study’s conclusion, there was a significant reduction in low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, total to HDL cholesterol ratio, and LDL to HDL ratio in the group who received the calcium and vitamin D supplements compared to the placebo group. A tendency for lower total cholesterol and triglyceride levels was also observed in the supplemented group. Fasting plasma glucose and insulin had also decreased by the end of the study, but did not differ significantly between the groups.

The authors suggest that the decrease in lipid and lipoprotein concentrations could be due to a reduction in fatty acid absorption and increase in fecal fatty acid content, among other factors. “It is suggested that in the clinical context of obesity treatment, calcium supplementation could be recommended in women with inadequate calcium intake to improve the cardiovascular disease risk profile,” the authors conclude.
