Check Cholesterol for a Happy, Healthy Life!
Cardio-vascular diseases top the list of major diseases the world over. Medical experts opine that a high cholesterol level in the bloodstream is the single major causative factor in this group of diseases. So what causes high levels of cholesterol in the blood, and what can you do to prevent that from happening to you? Letâs find out.
There is good cholesterol and there is bad cholesterol. The good cholesterol is called HDL and is required for healthy tissue growth and general health. The bad cholesterol is called LDL and accelerates tissue degeneration, leading to general poor health and some specifically dangerous conditions. The body itself regulates the level of both these types of cholesterol in the blood. You can unknowingly work against the body in this critical function and fall into the clutches of various real dangerous illnesses, or you can choose to act wisely and help the body to regulate these substances so that you are healthy naturally.
Is a high level of cholesterol a disease in itself? No, it is not. A high level of bad cholesterol in the blood causes tissue degeneration and accumulation of fatty substances in the body. The arteries are most prone to the effect of high cholesterol levels. They become hard, and they get coated with a fatty substance from inside. This constricts the flow of blood in the body, which in turn, leads to high blood pressure, strokes, and heart attacks. If you are a patient of any of these diseases then you should learn how to cut down the level of bad cholesterol. Itâs easy, as easy as 1, 2, 3! Read on and youâll see how.
The body regulates the level of cholesterol in the blood. As long as this regulation proceeds as required, there is no problem. There are times when this regulation fails. There are two common situations which lead to such failure. One is when we overdose the body with bad cholesterol. How? By eating of course! Oils, fats, animal produce, and some substances like sodium lead to a build up of bad cholesterol in the blood. Keep these villains off your diet and the bad cholesterol will drop back to normal level.
The second situation is an inactive lifestyle. If you are serious about controlling the level of bad cholesterol in your blood, then you should make it a point of exercising regularly. Thirty minutes of exercise is what the American Heart Association advises. Choose the form of exercise that suits you and your lifestyle best. Cycling, dancing, aerobics, walking, jogging, and swimming are all pleasant forms of exercise. Do these regularly as part of your normal routine, and watch those cholesterol levels drop!
Cigarette smoking is favored by a large number of people. This habit is definitely injurious in general and especially for people who suffer from elevated cholesterol levels. Even exposure to secondary smoke can aggravate the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. So stop smoking yourself, and avoid frequenting places filled with cigarette smoke.
There is another factor which can cause high levels of bad cholesterol. The problem is that the bodyâs regulatory mechanism is not working properly. This is usually a genetic problem and it could be hereditary. The only way out of this situation is medication. Your doctor will do the needful.
In conclusion, high levels of bad cholesterol can badly damage your health and lifestyle. If you want to lead a long and healthy and happy life, hereâs what you do. Number one, stop smoking. Number two, exercise. Number three, avoid fats and animal produce in your diet. There you have it: lower cholesterol levels in three easy steps⦠just as promised!

Is it normal for a teen to feel trapped? READ Answer me!?
Hello everyone.. I am new to yahoo answers and i have some questions for all of you.
2 month’s ago, on January 29th, i came home from work at about 10 pm, and drank some pop and got on facebook and talked to some friends… I went to bed then and started to imagine earth with no air, or any oxygen.. then i started to think do i have to breathe forever until i am old and die..? then i wondered why do i need to breathe, then out of no where BOOM, a huge panic attack hits me and i jump straight out of my bed, and yell to my parents mom, dad, i can’t breathe.. but obviously i was breathing…. the next day i felt better i forgot about breathing and all because i went to the doctor and he said, oxygen will be here forever in our lifetime, you can’t stop breathing, and he checked me out, and said lungs function 100%, your whole body is 100% healthy.. so i was like okay made me happy.. 2 days after that, i go outside out of my door, and see the world around me and look up in the sky and have this strange thought… i am stuck on this earth forever with no way out, and i feel trapped inside… instead of panicing or getting anxious, my whole body goes from happy and energized to sad, and no interest for anything. 3 weeks later still the same thing, but i feel better and better more happier… 1 month later i go down again feeling the same way again… now it’s the second month since it started and i feel better not on my head as much, when i get happy and work and do other stuff, i forget it it’s not on my mind i stay happy… but as soon as i leave work, i gt anxious and worried oh god, i am trapped i need to get out or i will never feel better… and it’s been like that since. Now my question is, is this normal, for me as a teenager since i am only 17, and i am turning 18 in June, or is it a disease.
Here is what i know.
1. No family history for mental ilness.
2. No anxiety or panic dissorders in the family.
3. Only problem in the family is high blood pressure, and (my dad) had high cholesterol now it’s gone.
So, why am i thinking these thoughts?
No, i don’t want to be an astronot, cause i am scared of heights, and i don’t feel like flying out in space because it has no oxygen or anything….. and i don’t wanna leave my family..
My feelings as of March 29th, are. Asking my self why am i on earth… why am i trapped… i get sad and happy and sad alot over this matter… it’s really distressing me i can’t focus really, i just have to think of it… and can i do anything to help my self..
Or is it really, pyschoitrists thing i have to go to, to get help? ANSWER NICELY PLEASE… i don’t want dumb answers i just want this figured out, for once !! so i can live my life.. and mostly wants to happen at nights! or when i look at blue sky i think it’s a blue bubble? WTF? I never had this on my mind until 5 mins of panic gets me 2 months of worrys! sigh.. sorry it’s long!
talk to a psychiatrist. it could be something, or it could be a range of things. psychiatrists do not give medicine though only psychologists do. relax and try to breath.

i suggest a physiologist. If not that, talk to a friend, see if they feel the same way. I went through the same thing after reading this book that told me life sucks but we’re stuck in it. The good thing for me was, one of my close friends recommended the book to me, so she felt the same way. And we started talking about it, and we eventually got out of it together. Knowing she was beside me, and that i wasn’t the only feeling that, it helped alot!

This sometimes happens to me in a kind of different way, I think of what will happen in the future when every possibility on earth has already happened, what could a person accomplish. Or I think maybe everything anyone has ever done has already happened many times over, and that is my theory on deja-vu. Then I think of wheather everything on earth is really variations of the colour scale vrs the shade scale or whatever its called, and how colour has to do with energy. Or sometimes I feel like just a figure that sits and stands and moves from picture frame to frame. To cope I just imagine all kinds of equally awesome stuff and time passes me by. Or I just say "whatever" or "doesnt matter" to anything that gets me anxious because I really might as well go with the flow of my surroundings and have some thrill or fun with it.
