To lower you trigylcerides, high dose niacin can do it. I dont know off hand what is considered high dose, but I do know that a lot of people have sensitivity to high doses of niacin. With the HDL, the best game plan is to increase your physical activity. Do at least 30 min of physical activity *that raises your hearbeat above baseline* most days of the week 5-6x. Also, its been clinically proven that red wine can improve HDL. It doesnt work for other colors of wine or types of alcohol and includes moderate amounts (one glass per day) Good luck and get moving!

Definitely foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids : Salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel, herring and trout. Eat 3-4 times a week is the recommendation. Oatmeal also helps bring total cholesterol down.
Also, I hope your triglyceride level was checked after 12-hour of fasting. Results are highly affected by recent food ingestion.
Exercise is also said to help increase HDL levels.
