I have genetically high cholesterol… 308 at one point… It is extremely important that you see a doctor. I get blood work done every six months and meds are adjusted accordingly… Not all drugs work for everyone. I was on most, if not all, the popular ones but had bad side effects. Turns out that I am allergic to statins… It has taken over ten years but I think that I am currently on a drug "cocktail" that works. I go back for blood work next Monday. Hopefully, my cholesterol be be around the 180 level that has been the last two times… By the way, my triglycerides used to be so high that they were unmeasurable… The last two times they were high but getting better.
