There’s a Dirty Little Secret about high/bad cholesterol levels!
“The Most Effective (and Cheapest) Way To Reduce Your Dangerously High Cholesterol Level ISN’T Being Offered To You By Your Family Doctor, Herbal Supplement Makers Or The Large Pharmaceutical Companies!”
(That’s why it’s so tough to find this information!)

You can reduce your High LDL Levels WITHOUT Becoming A Regular Customer Of Your Corner Drugstore!

From: A former High LDL drug addict

(isn’t that what they call people who take drugs daily??)

My doctor gave me a stern look, told me I had dangerously high cholesterol and wrote a prescription on the spot. I was told that my bad cholesterol was so high I needed to reduce it immediately or I might have a stroke or heart attack (Just like my father and grandfather).

I felt old and fragile. I felt tired and scared. The medication wasn’t cheap, and it left me feeling nauseated. I did some serious research and ordered a herbal supplement to see if that would help me, without the side effects. It did and and my doctor agreed to take me off my costly pharmaceuticals. Of course, I had to pay almost $40 per month for my herbal supplement.

Then I read an article from a naturopath discussing alternative ways to reduce high LDL levels.

It’s hard to get any scientific studies about certain alternative medicine therapies, but I found a ton of evidence that there were some simple ways to permanently reduce LDL levels. (most of them were already in my kitchen!)

I looked around and found 3 websites that published great information. (Actually, I found 7, bought 7, and realized that only these 3 were of value. (I asked for refunds on the others …still waiting!)

“The Best Thing Is That These Simple Things Worked, And It’s Your Least Expensive Option! “

The choice is yours. Get on some high cholesterol pill that is full of chemicals and causes side effects and stay on it for life. OR, purchase a lifetime supply of some all natural herbal supplement and pop pills for the rest of your life, OR, learn a few simple things that really work.

I sleep much better knowing I’ve reduced my bad LDL and my chances of stroke and heart attack. I’m glad I’m not dependent on toxic laden, heavy pharmaceutical medications with the associated side effects, don’t have to pay for an expensive monthly supplement, and feel much more confident I’ll be around to see my grandchildren grow up.

Anyway, before you spend the rest of your life as a servant to the big pharmaceutical corporatations, buy monthly herbal supplement or “miracle cures”, PLEASE take the time to read the eye-opening information on this website!

Here’s the link (click here)

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a long and healthy life

PS. Don’t just stop taking your prescribed cholesterol medication. Work with your doctor. I suggest you investigate this program and see if it makes sense for you.Tell your doctor what your doing and see if he would be willing to re-evaluate your need for medication every month. You’ll be surprised how quickly you LDL levels come down. And one more thing. This program works so well that they offer a 100% money back guarantee if you don’t get results quickly, so you have nothing to lose (but the monthly cost of cholesterol medication!)

Are you aware of the fact that besides the bad cholesterol that produces many medical conditions there is also healthy and good cholesterol? Your body has 2 kinds of cholesterol. HDL, which is the good cholesterol and LDL, the bad cholesterol. We have been told for many, many years that having a high level of HDL was thought to be very good for your health. We were told that having a high level of good cholesterol was going to give us a large amount of protection against heart conditions. As of late there has been some information on how to lower all cholesterol levels, not just your LDL cholesterol level, which is the bad cholesterol.

Those that thought that hdl cholesterol levels which are high can protect you from heart problems are now saying that this cholesterol level is actually also causing us concern as a risk of heart disease. The risk however, is only if you have a low HDL cholesterol level. So as we are told to lower both cholesterol levels is actually wrong advice. It has also been found that even if the LDL cholesterol level are in normal levels, people that had the good cholesterol levels a little lower were now at risk of having an artery problem. Normal HDL cholesterol levels are when you have minimum 35 mg/ Dl. The actual HDL cholesterol is truly needed for the work that it does. The HDL cholesterol is actually a very complex molecule the more we study it.

This HDL cholesterol is the combination of lipids, protein and cholesterol. It helps to clean out the walls of your blood vessels, which is a very important and a much needed factor to maintaing good health. The HDL cholesterol actually cleans out the excessive cholesterol that is sitting in your blood. So this means that the good cholesterol will clean out the bad cholesterol that is found in your blood. The bad cholesterol or better known as the LDL cholesterol then travels to your liver to be filtered. So this explains why one cholesterol level must be higher to help the other cholesterol level become lower and all the while protecting you from having heart problems.

If you need to raise your HDL cholesterol levels you will need to have healthy eating habits and an exercise routine in place. By doing some type of daily exercise for 30 minutes a day and eating properly you will help to keep your cholesterol levels at the right levels.

Have you ever been in a conversation about cholesterol and noticed that people are usually commenting on how high levels of cholesterol can be bad for your body and can even cause death? What one never hears about is the fact that cholesterol is essential for our bodies.

The cholesterol molecule is a waxy like and fatty like substance, which comes from a group of molecules known as steroids. The cholesterol molecule is in our blood as well as all the cells in our body tissue. A cholesterol molecule does not enter our bodies through food, but is made by different parts of our body. Body tissues that have highly packed membranes, such as the liver, and arethoma are known to produce more cholesterol molecules and have more cholesterol present in their cells.
A form of the cholesterol molecule, if present in huge amounts in our bodies could form plaque on the walls of our arteries, which will eventually block the flow of blood supply and cause heart problems. But, the cholesterol molecule also plays an important part in the formation of sex hormones and the cholesterol molecules helps the cells to hold up under temperature fluctuations and most importantly to protect the nerve fibers. Cholesterol molecules help in the much needed digestion of food through the making of bile salts. hdl cholesterol molecules become our broom and will eventually sweep and clean up LDL cholesterol molecules from our arteries. The intake of Vitamin D from natural sunlight is helped by the cholesterol molecule.

The cholesterol molecule is needed for our bodily functions, but as too much of it can be bad for our bodies in increased quantities, people should watch and have a handle on the amounts of cholesterol molecules that are in their bodies. By living a lifestyle with a proper diet, and if needed over the short term the use of needed medications.

The purpose of this article is to present heart disease facts that might help the reader in preventing heart disease in their life and in the lives of their loved ones.

Heart disease is a problem that affects a very significant number of people in industrialized countries. You can only prevent a case of heart disease from developing if you are informed about the illness, so in this article, we will be discussing some basic heart disease facts so that you will be better suited when it comes to understanding the problem that is known as heart disease.

Although many people realize that heart disease is a significant problem, few realize exactly how many people are afflicted with a heart disease related illness. As many as 1 out of 4 American citizens are victim to some form of heart disease, clearly exemplifying the threat that it presents.

Approximately one million Americans die each and every year as a result of a case of cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular disease includes heart disease or strokes; together, these two types of illnesses account for the number one cause of death in industrialized nations for both men and women.

Approximately forty two percent of all deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease.

Studies have shown that those who smoke cigarettes are twice as likely to have a heart attack than those who refrain from smoking. Low levels of physical activity are also associated with a high occurrence of heart attacks, with those who remain relatively stationary having a risk of developing a heart attack that is double that of those with an active lifestyle.

While doctors are often able to see accumulations of plaque present in the arteries surrounding the heart, it can be tough for them to gauge the risk of heart attack, as they often take the patient by surprise with little to no warning.

Since lifestyle choices have so much to do with ones chances of developing cardiovascular disease, it can be a shock to hear that as much as fifty percent of the American population do not participate in sufficient levels of physical activity.

Diet can have a lot to do with the development of cardiovascular disease, as well. Some studies have shown that those who maintain a vegetarian diet have a chance of developing cardiovascular disease that is twenty four percent less likely than those who eat meat

One good way of ensuring that you are maintaining your health when it comes to preventing heart disease is to measure your cholesterol. Proper cholesterol levels should be worked towards. Cholesterol levels that are above 200 mg/dl for total blood cholesterol, with ldl levels that are above 130 mg/dl or HDL levels that are below 35 mg/dl, as well as lipoprotein levels that are higher than 30 mg/dl represent a risk that needs to be addressed.

Now that you know much more about the ways to prevent cardiovascular disease and just how common the problem is, you will be better suited for diagnosing the problem and dealing with it. If you think that you are at risk for cardiovascular disease or any other form of heart disease, you should speak to a doctor in order to ensure that there is no problem present. Prevention is the key to surviving heart disease, so be sure to stay active and healthy!

Part 1: About PMS

Understanding PMS is one of the most important things you can do to manage your symptoms. In this booklet, Jarret D. Morrow, MD, chief scientific officer and president of University Health Industries, presents the known facts about PMS, an overview of treatment options, and current independent research that supports the use of Zenstral PMS™ for relieving PMS and PMDD.

What are PMS and PMDD?

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a more severe form of PMS, are both very common and potentially debilitating conditions from which many women suffer. Hormonal changes following ovulation trigger a group of disruptive symptoms that appear approximately 14 days before your period. PMS and PMDD affect an estimated 40 million women in the United States, with more than 5 million requiring medical treatment.

What causes PMS?

Though the exact cause of PMS is not completely understood, it appears that the hormones progesterone, estrogen and testosterone are involved, along with changes in the level of the brain chemical serotonin. Nutritional deficiencies in magnesium or vitamin B6, hormonal changes, neurotransmitter activity, diet, and stress have all been implicated in the etiology of PMS.1,2

What are the symptoms of PMS?

Most women feel some discomfort before their periods. But if you have PMS, you may feel so anxious, depressed, or uncomfortable that you can’t cope at home or at work. Common symptoms of PMS include:

Symptoms usually stop or taper off soon after your period begins, and you may be symptom free until about two weeks before your next period.

What are the risks of PMD and PMDD?

PMS and PMDD are not mere inconveniences. These conditions can adversely impact a woman’s personal, professional, and financial success. Women suffering from PMS are at increased risk of depression, absenteeism from work, strained relationships, reduced productivity, and worsening of medical conditions such as epilepsy, asthma, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, or migraine headache during specific phases of their menstrual cycles.

How can I tell if I have PMS?

According the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), you may have PMS if

Your PMS symptoms occur only during the last two weeks of your cycle.

the symptoms are sufficiently uncomfortable to impair your quality of life.

other disorders that may be mistaken for PMS have been excluded.

If you suspect you have PMS, ACOG recommends keeping a daily log of your symptoms for two or three consecutive months to help in diagnosis. It’s important to talk with your doctor to confirm your diagnosis and rule out other possible causes of your symptoms, such as depression, migraine headaches, seizure disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, or allergies.

What can I do to manage my PMS symptoms?

Women can often manage the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome by making changes in the way they eat, exercise, and approach their daily lives. To reduce your discomfort, try implementing as many of the suggestions below as you can.

Dietary Tips for Controlling PMS

Eat smaller, more frequent meals to reduce bloating and the sensation of fullness.

Eat complex carbohydrates such as whole grain breads, pasta, and cereals.

Cut back on sugar and fat in your diet.

Avoid salt for the last days before your period to reduce bloating and fluid retention.

Avoid caffeine intake to feel less tense and irritable.

Avoid alcoholic beverages. Consuming alcohol before your period can make you feel more depressed.

Choose foods rich in calcium.

Increase consumption of dietary fiber.

Lifestyle Tips for Controlling PMS

Get aerobic exercise. Regular daily exercise will help improve your overall health and can alleviate symptoms such as fatigue and a depressed mood.

Ensure adequate sleep—about eight hours per night.

Attempt to schedule stressful events for the week after your period.

Maintain a regular schedule of meals, bedtime, and exercise.

Practice deep-breathing exercises to help reduce headaches, anxiety, or trouble sleeping.

Avoid smoking cigarettes.

What medical treatments are available for PMS and PMDD?

There are four types of prescription drugs used for PMS/PMDD:

Antidepressants that act on serotonin, including fluoxetine, sertraline, and paroxetine.The FDA has recently ordered makers of several antidepressants to issue black box warnings that patients on these medications should be closely monitored for “clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior.”

Agents that suppress ovulation, such as danazol, transdermal estradiol patches, and some oral contraceptives. These medications carry risks for serious side effects and can be very expensive.

Other psychotropics to reduce anxiety, such as alprazolam and other anxiolytic benzodiazepines. Since alprazolam has a very short half-life, there is a risk of addiction for patients who are started on this medication.

Spironolactone, a diuretic that is only available by prescription. It has proven effective in reducing premenstrual fluid retention, but doesn’t address the other symptoms of PMS.

How effective are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI’s) for the treatment of PMS?

SSRI’s are a class of drugs used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Patients can experience many side effects from the use of these medications including weight changes, increase in anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and sexual dysfunction. A study published in the Cochrane Database concluded that there is very good evidence to support the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in the management of severe PMS. However, withdrawals due to side effects were 2.5 times more likely to occur in the treatment group than in the placebo group.3

What is the effectiveness of using gonadotropin releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa) to treat PMS?

GnRH analogues work to stop menstrual periods by decreasing estrogen production. A recent meta-analysis published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology concluded that GnRHa treatment appears to be an effective option in the management of PMS.4 Unfortunately, patients who take these analogues can experience several serious side effects, including menopausal type symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, vaginal dryness, and increased LDL cholesterol and bone loss.

Is bright light therapy effective for treating the depression associated with premenstrual dysphoric disorder?

Light therapy consists of exposure to full-spectrum light for a prescribed amount of time. A recent meta-analysis of bright light therapy published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology concluded that “the current evidence justifies neither enthusiastic dissemination nor confident rejection of this therapeutic modality.”5 Essentially, this suggests that more research is required to study the potential benefit of this treatment for PMS.

Part 2: About Zenstral PMS ™

From University Health Industries

Zenstral PMS from University Health Industries

Testimonial:

“I want to thank you for all of your help. I have had the most terrible PMS with every symptom possible. Zenstral PMS has made all the difference! I have none of the symptoms: no headache, cramps, irritability, mood swings, or aches. This works! Thanks so much for this product!”

– Debbie W, North Carolina.

What is Zenstral PMS™?

Zenstral PMS™ is an innovative blend of natural compounds that are scientifically proven to reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Unlike other PMS treatments, Zenstral addresses both the physical and psychological symptoms of PMS/PMDD in one convenient product, without the risk of dangerous side effects.

Using the principles of evidence based medicine, our physicians and pharmacologists formulated Zenstral PMS™ after months of reviewing the results of university research studies worldwide. The result is a powerful nutraceutical that is as effective as other PMS remedies—and safer.â€

Who should take Zenstral PMS™?
Zenstral PMS™ is recommended for women suffering fromgeneral PMS-related symptoms

cyclical mood symptoms of PMS including irritability, tension, depression

lower back and joint pain associated with PMS

fluid retention associated with PMS

breast tenderness associated with PMS

What are the ingredients in Zenstral PMS™?

Each caplet contains 20 mg of Vitex agnus castus (.3% casticin), 200 mg of magnesium oxide (MgO), and 50 mg of vitamin B6 (pyroxidine)..

The Vitex agnus castus (VAC) compound used in Zenstral is casticin, a flavonoid from the chasteberry. This is the same substance used in the clinical studies that show Vitex agnus castus to be effective. Nearly all other products on the market standardize to agnuside, a terpene compound from the chasteberry tree.

How does Zenstral PMS™ work?

The natural compounds in Zenstral work on many of the biochemical mechanisms that contribute to PMS:â€

Vitex Agnus Castus Extract (VAC): VAC acts on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, a set of complex interactions between three hormone-producing organs. It also reduces stress-induced prolactin levels by simulating the effects of dopamine in the brain (dopamine agonist).6 In addition, VAC has been found to elevate beta-endorphin and opiod levels, naturally occurring substances that decrease pain and create a feeling of calm and well-being.7,8

Magnesium: Low levels of red-cell magnesium have been correlated with symptoms of PMS.9 This is the rationale for supplementation with magnesium and has resulted in a number of studies on magnesium supplementation in women suffering from PMS.

Vitamin B6: Also called pyroxidine, vitamin B6 has a positive effect on levels of neurotransmitters such as serontonin, norepinephrine, histamine, dopamine, and taurine.10

What is evidence-based medicine?

Evidence based medicine (EBM) involves examining a broad spectrum of evidence—such as meta-analyses, systematic reviews of existing research, randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and other methods of inquiry—to make decisions about patient care and treatment.

EBM is rapidly becoming the new paradigm in health care, replacing the older authority-based model where the value of a medical treatment (and sometimes its availability) was based on the work of a limited number of experts.

To learn more about evidence based medicine, a non-profit organization called the Cochrane Collaboration (www.cochrane.org) is an excellent place to begin.

What is a meta-analysis?

A meta-analysis involves collecting data from many similar research studies, then analyzing the pooled data for statistical significance.

What evidence was used in formulating Zenstral PMS™?

Below is a representative sample of the scientific evidence used in formulating Zenstral PMS™:

Vitex Agnus Castus Extract (VAC)

A recent double-blind, randomized controlled trial published in the British Medical Journal demonstrated a 52 percent reduction in PMS symptoms in women treated with dry extract of agnus castus fruit.11 Similar results were obtained in another study published in the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics.12

Another recent study found Vitex agnus castus extract to be as effective as fluoxetine for the treatment of PMDD, a more severe form of PMS. The authors reported that 57.9 percent of patients responded to VAC extract in the treatment of this disorder, and also found that VAC extract was more effective than fluoxetine in treating the physical symptoms of PMDD.13

German health authorities have approved the use of chasteberry for three gynecological conditions: menstrual cycle irregularity, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and mastodynia (breast pain).14

Magnesium

A recent randomized, double-blind crossover study concluded that magnesium works synergistically with vitamin B6 to relieve anxiety symptoms associated with PMS.15

Vitamin B6

The British Medical Journal did a meta-analysis of vitamin B6 in the treatment of PMS and concluded that it was likely to be beneficial in treating premenstrual symptoms and premenstrual depression.16

Who should not take Zenstral PMS™?

Consult a physician before use if you are pregnant, nursing, taking birth control pills, have a hormone-sensitive medical condition such as breast cancer, or are taking dopamine-related medications.

How much should I take?

The typical dosage is one caplet twice daily. Take Zenstral™ every day of the month, not only when you’re having symptoms. It needs to reach and maintain therapeutic levels in the body to work.

When will it start to work?

With daily use, Zenstral™ will reach therapeutic levels in your system within three to four weeks, so you should feel relief by the second cycle. In contrast, prescription antidepressants take at least a month to start working and don’t address the physical symptoms of PMS.

What are the possible side effects?

No serious side effects have been reported for the ingredients in Zenstral PMS™. Data from clinical trials, post-marketing surveillance studies, spontaneous reporting systems, manufacturers, and herbalist organizations indicate that the compounds in Zenstral PMS™ are generally well tolerated, and that any adverse events following VAC treatment are mild and reversible.17 Possible side effects include nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, or pruritus.11,12,13,15,16,17,18

Consult a physician if you experience any of these side effects or use this product longer than six months. Discontinue use and consult a physician if an allergic reaction occurs.

No drug interactions have been reported. However, because of Zenstral’s mode of action, consult your physician before use if you are taking dopamine-related medications.

What is the NPA TruLabel Program?

The Natural Products Association (NPA) TruLabel program is the industry’s most expansive and successful self-regulatory program.

University Health Industries and other NPA members voluntarily pay for random monitored tests of their products by independent laboratories. If a test reveals any deficiency in product quality or accuracy in labeling, NPA immediately alerts the member company and expects it to take corrective action. NPA revokes the membership of any company that does not comply.

What is your guarantee?

University Health Industries’ products are backed by our 100% money-back guarantee for first-time orders. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your order, simply return it within 30 days and we’ll issue you a full refund of your purchase price, less shipping and handling.

Also known as acute myocardial infarction, heart attack is the leading cause of death worldwide. An average of 1.2 million Americans suffer from a heart attack annually and 40% of these people die. This condition is characterized by an interruption of the blood flow to a particular region in the heart. The interruption results to oxygen shortage which causes heart tissue damage and tissue death.

People with a history of stroke, atherosclerotic heart disease or angina and abnormal heart rhythm have a higher risk of experiencing a heart attack. The disease mostly affects men over 40 years old and women over 50 years old. There are also medical and scientific studies stating that women who use contraceptive pills have a higher risk of a heart attack than those who does not use them. A person’s lifestyle can also increase chances of a heart attack. Smoking, drinking, drug abuse, presence of high triglyceride levels in the food you eat, high ldl levels and low HDL levels are some of the risk factors you should learn to avoid. On the other hand, individuals diagnosed with diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and high stress levels are also considered to be at serious risk.

A person having a heart attack will experience chest pains, nausea, shortness of breath, vomiting, sweating, palpitations and anxiety. These symptoms are usually experienced by males while in females, symptoms include fatigue and weakness. There is evidence that at least 30% of all myocardial infarction incidents have no visible symptoms and are considered to be “silent” infarctions.

A person suffering from a heart attack requires immediate medical attention to prevent sustained heart damage Aside from receiving oxygen, glyceryl trinitrate and aspirin; persons having heart attacks will undergo a series of diagnostic test including an electrocardiogram, blood test and chest X-ray. These tests will determine levels of troponin or creatine kinase which are usually indicative of heart tissue damage. Treatment can involve thrombolytic therapy or percutaneous coronary intervention. For severe cases, a bypass surgery will be performed to unblock the affected coronary artery.

Heart attacks are usually triggered by intense exertion, both psychological and physical. Acute severe infections like pneumonia can also trigger heart attacks. A person at risk of having a heart attack usually has a clinical history of chest pains that lasts for more than 20 minutes. The person will also have changing ECG readings as well as fluctuating levels of serum cardiac biomarkers.

People who survived a heart attack can reduce risk of recurrence by monitoring blood pressure and implementing lifestyle changes. They would not be allowed to smoke, drink excessively and will be encouraged to exercise regularly, eat a well-balanced diet and take long-term medication. These medications include antiplatelet drug therapy (aspirin), beta blocker therapy (metoprolol), ACE inhibitor therapy, statin therapy, aldosterone antagonist agent eplerenone and omega-3 fatty acids.

Complications from a heat attack are very likely to occur immediately. These complications can include congestive heart failure, myocardial rupture, pericarditis, life-threatening arrhythmia and cardiogenic shock. This is the reason heart attacks can be so fatal, as the effects occur rather rapidly.

There are no hidden secrets concerning how to lower cholesterol. It simply requires the planning and initiation of positive lifestyle modifications in terms of diet, exercise and stress management. Your eating and exercise habits are what has caused your cholesterol levels to become elevated – and they are also what will bring your cholesterol levels back into check. Yes, there are some drugs manufactured by multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies that can help in reducing cholesterol levels, but your first line of defense against high cholesterol is a healthy diet and lifestyle. You can effectively lower cholesterol naturally by following the helpful tips below:

Â

Avoid high cholesterol foods:

High cholesterol foods cause increased levels of low density lipoproteins (LDL) that carry cholesterol to build up a waxy plaque on the interior of your arterial walls. This is called hypercholesterolemia, the cause of atherosclerosis, and is characterized by the following:

Your heart has to work harder to pump blood through the narrowed arterial openings;

With the restricted blood flow, your body parts, tissues and organs become starved for oxygen and nutrients;

Your arteries become stretched and weakened;

Your probability for congestive heart failure, myocardial infarctions, strokes and kidney failure all significantly increase;

You take years of enjoyment away from your life and from those that love you.

Â

List of high cholesterol foods:

All foods with even moderate levels of saturated fats;

All foods with any level of Trans fats;

Fat red meats;

Goose and duck meat as well as turkey and chicken;

All organs from animals;

Dairy products that have not had the fats removed from them;

Shellfish;

Â

Also be sure to avoid excessive alcohol consumption and high-sodium food sources. Paying strict attention to your diet for lowering cholesterol will add fun-filled and healthy years to your life.

Exercise some every day:

Exercise is a vital component for healthy living. Exercise stimulates your metabolism and helps you to lower cholesterol naturally. Blood, along with the oxygen and nutrients that it carries, is delivered more efficiently. Your heart, a muscle itself, becomes stronger and better able to perform its never-ending duties. Your perspiration increases and helps you to flush out toxic buildups inside of you. Your probability for development of every disease is lessened significantly. You will look, feel, think and act better with daily exercise.

Manage your stress levels:

Untamed stressors contribute significantly to the development of every disease in existence. You can manage your stress effectively with attention given to your well-being. Study the pleasing techniques of meditation. Learn Yoga. Take some classes in Pilates. Pray. There are various ways to increase the calm in your life and capacitate yourself to thrive for many years to come.

Learning how to lower cholesterol is as simple as intending to love yourself by eating wholesome foods, exercising every day and managing your stress levels. It should go without saying that smoking is also disallowed. Take control of your health beginning today and experience the liberation that rapidly comes with your new holistically-healthy lifestyle. Enjoy!

There are many natural ingredients that can help reduce cholesterol levels and thus reduce the risk of various diseases associated with elevated cholesterol: arteriosclerosis, heart disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes mellitus, kidney failure, etc. However, until recently medical scientists believed that diet alone couldn’t substantially reduce cholesterol levels in persons confronted with high cholesterol problems. Compared to cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins (medications that block the enzyme that stimulates the production of cholesterol at the level of the liver), most diets were considered to be inefficient in dealing with cholesterol. However, a newly published diet has clearly contradicted such beliefs, proving to be as efficient as many existing cholesterol-lowering medications.

Combining a series of natural ingredients renowned for their efficiency in reducing cholesterol levels, the special diet can cut down cholesterol by up to 30 percent. Thanks to its remarkable efficiency, the diet is considered to be a good replacement for synthetic cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins, which are known to produce a series of pronounced side-effects on long-term use. The diet limits the intake of foods rich in saturated fat and simple carbohydrates and encourages the consumption of soy proteins, nuts, viscous fibers (found in barley and oats) and plant sterols substance with beneficial action, contained by non-starch and leafy green vegetables, as well as most vegetable oils.

A recently conducted clinical study has clearly revealed that the special diet is actually very efficient in reducing cholesterol levels and preventing the occurrence of multiple diseases associated with elevated cholesterol. The study involved the participation of 13 people, who were asked to follow the dietary plan over a period of one month. The subjects’ regime consisted solely of the following foods: carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, onions, beans, cauliflower, red peppers, eggplant, oats, barley, almonds, fresh fruits, vegetal margarine and soy products (soy milk, tofu, soy substitutes for meat). The study participants had the liberty to choose the amount of foods consumed with each meal and combine the ingredients any way they wanted. However, all study participants were asked to only stick with the ingredients included in the diet.

By the end of the study, all subjects had substantially reduced their bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and had increased good cholesterol (HDL) levels. The average reduction in cholesterol levels registered in all 13 participants was around 30 percent, very similar to the effects of statins and other commonly used cholesterol-lowering medications. Considering the fact that it produces very efficient results, the special diet can actually be regarded as a suitable replacement for treatments with cholesterol-lowering drugs.

The pathological conditions in which there are high levels of fats in the blood. The medical term for these conditions is hyperlipidemia, which is made of three parts; hyper-, is a prefix meanings more or extra, lipid is fat, and emia is a suffix indicating that the condition is in the blood. Hyperlipidemia is a general term, it could be either high cholesterol in the blood (hypercholesterolemia), high triglycerides in the blood (hypertriglyceridemia) or it could be both.

When we talk about too much cholesterol in the bloods we mean by that high LDL (the bad cholesterol), there is nothing called too much of a good thing; so high levels of HDL (the good cholesterol) is not considered a disease. We have to remember that the absolute values of these two lipoproteins are not that important but rather the ratio between the two. So lower than normal value of HDL, even in the presence of normal value of LDL, is still considered hypercholesterolemia.

Hereditary

Many factors can lead to having high lipid levels in the bloods like defected copy of one of the several genes that participate in lipid metabolism. The mutation might cause more production of LDL or decrease its rate of clearance from the blood. On the other hand, the mutated gene might promote faster HDL clearance or lower its production. Either way, the balance between the good cholesterol and the bad cholesterol is disturbed and there is more of the bad stuff in the blood. In such hereditary cases, a positive family history is always present, and these individuals develop arteriosclerosis earlier than usual.

Food habit

The majority of the cases are not caused by hereditary factors, but rather secondary to other conditions. Obesity is considered a risk factor because it usually indicates a certain life style with high food consumption and low physical exercises, both are incriminated in high blood lipids. High consumption of food rich in saturated fat such as found in meats, non-skim dairy products, butter and some artificially hydrogenated vegetable oils is particularly risky. We have to remember that high intake of cholesterol prevents the uptake of cholesterol circulating in the blood by the liver, and these kinds of food are not short of it.

Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus, especially if poorly controlled, is a major contributor to high blood lipids. Other diseases such as kidney failure or hyperthyroidism may also cause hyperlipidemia. Drugs such as estrogens, oral contraceptives, and corticosteroids can increase the blood lipid level as well. The high levels of triglycerides are caused by similar factors that lead to high LDL, but there is no established link between high triglycerides and cardiovascular diseases. The consumption of a high calorie diet and excessive use of alcohol are also contributing factors to high blood levels of triglycerides.
