Based on the Friedewald equation
LDL = Total cholesterol – HDL – (Triglycerides รท 5)
Appears that a person with 50 Triglycerides has higher calculated LDL than another person with 200 Triglycerides with similar HDL and total cholesterol. It does not make sense. Any sliding scale factor for the equation?.
LDL + HDL + (Triglycerides / 5) = Total cholesterol
50 / 5 = 10
200 / 5 = 40
There is no straight line relationship between any of the three, they are separate lipid components. My LDL dropped 80 points, HDL went up 8, Tri’s stayed about the same.
