Why do doctors tell you it is bad cholesterol ?

By admin · Monday, October 26th, 2009

LDL is not even a cholesterol product it is a protein ( hence the name low density lipo PROTEIN ) And its job in the body is to shuttle cholesterol from the liver to the tissues so that it can help to produce hormones . We wouldnt have any hormones without cholesterol . There is only one cholesterol that is made by the liver and our body uses all of it . Why would our body make something that will eventualy kill us by its production ? It doesn’t !!

Give up, Tom. It is obvious that the responses so far have no clue what you are talking about. Your body makes 85% of the cholesterol in the body and if you limit the dietary cholesterol, it just makes more. When will people learn that everything your body does is for a reason. I will even argue the necessity for lowering BP just for the sake of meeting some arbitrary number that was made up to sell drugs and services. Health care will never progress until we quit getting our information from sources that have a profit motive.

I believe that it is because people consume
too many products with high cholesterol in them.
Even though the body makes enough…we
may consume alot more than it needs.
Also, in some families, hereditary plays a
part in how much cholesterol is in the body.
They are trying to lower cholesterol in the
body, not get rid of it.
Cholesterol is also needed for
making of cell membranes and other things…
the brain definitely needs it.
There seems to be controversy over how
high and low these levels should really be in
the blood.
When they talk about LDL and HDL, they
are really talking about the carriers of the
cholesterol in the blood…not the actual
cholesterol itself…is my understanding.
The LDL carries the cholesterol away from
the liver, where the HDL returns it to the
liver for processing.

In a lot of instances, the body works on the principle "too much of anything is bad."

Having high level of LDL is bad. Your body producing it by itself wont kill you. However, if you eat things that cause it to overproduce, that makes it bad.

Also, there is HDL. It is good to have a lot of HDL. Looking at the two, LDL is the bad guy. Perhaps thats why they call it bad cholesterol.

The body also produces different yeasts, but if they overgrow, they cause infection. See my point?
