Discussions, Resources and Solutions To Reduce Bad Cholesterol

Are high cholesterol levels associated with the consumption of products containing High Fructose Corn Syrup?

I think I read somewhere that it increases the levels of small, dense LDL (called LDL-B) cholesterol, which is much more dangerous than regular LDL ("bad") cholesterol.

If this is true, I guess soft drink consumption is as bad as eating butter and cheese on ones cholesterol? Maybe Fructose Corn Syrup in cereals are bad too?

Anyone know?

excess blood glucose leads to glycation, which damages arterial walls. You are right about LDL-B. They are called vLDL levels.

Also, how would cheese and butter raise cholesterol? I thought everyone was aware that dietary cholesterol and fat is not bound to blood cholesterol.

Sugar causes inflammed vLDL, which causes CHD.
